Positive results can be seen at the first visit.  Most conditions take 2-4 sessions to meet goals, but every individual is different and treatment frequency varies per patient.

The duration of time needed to return to one’s desired goal activity varies in relation to the injury, the severity of the injury and the intensity of the desired activity.  A return back to activity plan is given.

If it is found during the evaluation or during the course of treatment that you need the care of another specialist or medical care, that recommendation will be given and reviewed.

What can I expect?

Professional, personalized, quality care with an emphasis at reducing one’s pain,  improving one’s posture, strength and mobility to help them reach their goals.

At your first session, a thorough evaluation is performed, so a treatment plan to help you reach your goals is established.  Treatment will be initiated at the first session. Problematic issues of the joint, muscle, fascia or nerves will be skillfully addressed with manual skills.  You will be educated about your condition and what you need to do to help your progress and reduce risk of re-occurrence.  Home exercises, education and self care is a huge component towards you getting well and reaching your goals.

Treatment always includes education about your posture, ergonomics or body

mechanics that contribute to your condition.  Manual work is done to address pain and nerve issues, and to free the tissue to move and function properly. This is a KEY missed step in some traditional PT.   Based upon your evaluation and goals, a personalized home exercise program is prescribed.  Your home exercise program is vital in helping you achieve your goals.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring or wear a pair of shorts or comfortable clothing to your appointments to allow for freedom of movement.

Do you take insurance?

Mary Kay does not accept or work with insurance companies.  Payment must be made at time of service.  A prescription form with diagnosis and codes can be given to patients for their own submission to their insurance upon request.  It is recommended that if you plan to file with your insurance that you check with their non-network provider policy and requirements.  Many insurers require a doctor’s script for Physical therapy for re-imbursement.
